Nicholas Clayton, president of Viceroy Hotel Group, announced the recent appointment of Cheryl Bennett as vice president of travel industry sales. Bennett, who will operate from New York City, will oversee the hotel group's travel industry segment with luxury-focused organizations including primary distribution channels, travel management companies, wholesalers and retail travel agencies.

"Cheryl has a long and impressive history involved with travel industry sales for one of the most prestigious hospitality companies in North America, and we're delighted to have her put her experience to good use for Viceroy Hotel Group. Indeed, we look forward to her being a 'game-changer' as Viceroy continues to build its presence throughout U.S. and around the world," Clayton said.

Bennett joins Viceroy Hotel Group from The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, where she enjoyed a decade-long run that saw her advance from Northeast travel industry sales manager for The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of the Caribbean and Mexico to regional director, travel industry sales for the Northeast and Midwest, and finally to corporate senior director of travel industry sales for Ritz-Carlton properties globally. She was consistently recognized as a "Key Performer" for Ritz-Carlton, thrice achieving President's Circle status, and thrice more Chairman's Circle status.

Previously, Bennett was a sales manager for Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ - her first position in the hospitality industry, beginning in 1996.

A native of Bucks County, PA, Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1995.
